Leisana's Quest
A downloadable game
A small 48 hour game jam game that I made which features a random encounter and equipment generator, a rock-paper-scissors type system, the ability to perfectly time blocks to negate all damage, damage over time (DOT) and healing over time (HOT) systems which have some funky stacking mechanics, rogue-lite mechanics and 5 bosses. The game is supposed to stop after 100 fights, but you can continue if you wish.
Also the game is a mess, as most game jam titles are, so please forgive any bugs and issues you may have.
Controls!
In Combat:
Click on an ability or press the corresponding number on your keyboard to use it when it is your turn.
Press 'D' to defend against attacks, if you time it right, you will avoid all damage.
In Menus:
To select something, press the number correlating to it.
Advanced Information:
When you stack a DOT/HOT on-top of another, it will take the strongest of both the original and the newly applied DOT/HOT.
So if you had 12 DOT for 3 Turns on an enemy, and then apply a 1 DOT for 10 turns, the result would be 12 DOT for 10 turns.
When saving, only your current equipment, floor and spells will be saved, not your stored stuff.
It will make more sense once you play.
UPDATE:
Post-Jam Bugfix
I know it's over a year since I finished the jam but I wanted to change a few things just in case anyone plays this again. I'm making sure to record my changes here in-case anyone wants to know what the original game jam build was like.
- Fixed the DOT text in the final final boss
- Lowered the final final boss damage (400 base to 250 base)
- Adjusted a few of the randomly generatable names to prevent really bad combinations from appearing
- Fixed the bug where occasionally your shield wouldn't come out when you press D (which is unfortunately based on your framerate, which is really bad lmao, very sloppy programming by me)
